Basic is back!! We’re bringing back the essential learning experience that started it all. Neuroscience Foundations (formerly the Basic Institute) is designed for educators ready to ground their practice in the core principles of brain science.

In this institute, you’ll explore:

  • How to improve educational outcomes for all students by tapping into the brain’s natural ability to learn and grow

  • Practical strategies to create conditions for attention, regulation, and engagement

  • The science behind metacognition, self-regulated learning, and student empowerment

  • Tools for managing classrooms through connection

This training has helped me better understand the science behind how students learn, and how to help them attain greater long term understanding. I look forward to putting my learning into practice to benefit all of the students I work with.

Inclusion in Practice: Neuroscience Foundations for Inclusive Learning Environments

We’re partnering with ShiftEd Perspectives to offer an additional virtual learning experience focused on connecting neuroscience and neurodiversity-affirming practices to daily instruction and learning design.

This session helps educators move from foundational neuroscience concepts to practical implementation through tools, supports, and structures that expand access for neurodivergent and disabled learners.

In this session, educators will:

  • Apply neuroscience concepts through a neurodiversity-affirming lens

  • Explore practical strategies that reduce environmental barriers for neurodivergent students

  • Consider ways to universally design learning spaces for engagement and address concerning behavior
