Explore the neuroscience of equity and the impact of inclusive environments

This three-day institute offers educators a deep dive into the neuroscience of equity, fostering a space for growth, challenge, and critical reflection.  Using the Challenge Cycle learning structure, educators will analyze their mental models and identify areas for growth and change agency.

Exploring the neuroscience of equity requires grappling with complexity, uncertainty, and shifts in perspective. This institute provides a structured space for educators to investigate systemic barriers, challenge assumptions, and connect with a community committed to meaningful change.

Participants will:

  • engage in self-reflection and emotional processing to identify how their mental models and personal experiences influence their ability to foster equitable learning environments.

  • consider systemic barriers to equity and explore actionable strategies for creating transformative change within their educational contexts.

This nonpartisan institute focuses on classroom practice, translating peer-reviewed neuroscience into strategies that foster belonging and academic growth.

I appreciated how this training explored the why and how of supporting all students by utilizing a neural lens and providing multiple perspectives.

Inclusion in Practice: Neuroscience of Equity for Inclusive Learning Environments

We’re partnering with ShiftEd Perspectives to offer an additional virtual learning experience focused on connecting neuroscience and neurodiversity-affirming practices to daily instruction and learning design.

This session helps educators move from foundational neuroscience concepts to practical implementation through tools, supports, and structures that expand access for neurodivergent and disabled learners.

In this session, educators will:

  • Apply neuroscience concepts through a neurodiversity-affirming lens

  • Explore practical strategies that reduce environmental barriers for neurodivergent students

  • Consider ways to universally design learning spaces for engagement and decrease concerning behaviors
